In 2010, I remember playing Dragon Age: Origins (a dark fantasy RPG), and speaking to one of the characters in the party’s camp. During that moment, the art, music, and dialogue were so good, that it made me feel emotions which are hard to describe. In that exact moment I decided: that’s what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to contribute to making others feel the same way I had.

First, I wanted to be a writer, but turns out I didn’t actually enjoy writing that much. Then I tried many things, always jumping between art and tech, and eventually found rigging by complete chance, without even knowing what it was: a mix of animation, 3D modelling, physics and programming. And to me, it’s fun as hell. I usually say rigging is „the art of solving problems”.

Even if you just learned about it, I really encourage you to give it a try. That’s one of the great things about making games: even if you never considered a specific area, all of them are so rich, and interesting, that the one you least expect could blow your mind! – like it happened to me. And hell, even if rigging doesn’t end up being your passion, it overlaps with so many other areas, that it’s a great knowledge boost into many other directions!

About me? Well, to this day I am still in love with story driven games (some of my faves are Mass Effect, Final Fantasy and Outer Wilds), but I also absolutely love animals and nature. And recently, I started learning how to play piano, which I find super relaxing.

I can help you with:

• Making character rigs for games/animation,
• Adding physics/cloth simulation to characters (especially in Unreal Engine) – It’s more fun than it sounds! ;),
• Technical animation topics (the logic to move/animate the character in game),
• Unreal Engine blueprints and game mechanics prototyping,
• Programming in Python to create tools in 3D software, but can also help with learning programming in general.

Other than that, I love people, so spending time with them is always a good plan for me.
